Independent module

Completely independent from Gemini Data Chat. Uses Anthropic Claude API with free tier available.

How it works

  1. Open Claude Data Chat → Analyze my data from the main menu
  2. Option A – Tabular data: select cells in Odoo, Excel or Google Sheets, Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V in the text area
  3. Option B – Documents folder: select folders from Odoo Documents app to load all files (PDFs, images, spreadsheets)
  4. Click “Analyze with Claude” — both options can be combined
  5. Type your question and click “Send” — ask follow-up questions, Claude keeps the full context
💡 Example questions: “What is the total revenue for Q1?” “Summarize this invoice.” “Which product has the highest margin?” “What does this chart show?” “Are there any suspicious values in the data?” “Compare these two documents and highlight differences.”

Installation & configuration

  1. Install Python dependencies:pip install anthropic pandas openpyxl odfpy
  2. Get your API key from console.anthropic.com (free tier available, no credit card required)
  3. Install via Apps → Search Claude Data Chat → Install
  4. Go to Settings → Claude Data Chat and enter your key (sk-ant-...
  5. Choose model (Claude 3.5 Sonnet recommended) and response language, click Save

Session Management

  • Save Session: Give your analysis a custom name (e.g., “Q1 Sales Analysis”) and save it for later
  • Continue Session: Open a saved session to continue the conversation where you left off
  • Update Session: Save changes to an existing session (keeps the same name)
  • Fork Session: Change the session name before saving to create a new variant
  • Session History: View all your past analyses with token usage and costs

Documents Integration

Load entire folders from Odoo Documents app:

  • Select one or more Documents folders
  • Choose recursive mode to include sub-folders
  • All supported files are automatically loaded
  • Select which files to include in the analysis
  • Spreadsheets are converted to tabular data
  • PDFs and images are sent directly to Claude

Pricing

Claude API pricing (approximate for Claude 3.5 Sonnet):

  • Input tokens: $3 per million tokens
  • Output tokens: $15 per million tokens
  • Average: ~$9 per million tokens

The module tracks token usage and estimates costs in real-time. Free tier available for testing.

Claude Models

  • Claude 3.5 Sonnet (recommended): Best balance of speed, quality, and cost. Ideal for most data analysis tasks.
  • Claude 3.5 Haiku (faster): Fastest responses, lower cost. Good for simple queries and large datasets.
  • Claude 3 Opus (most powerful) : Highest quality analysis. Best for complex reasoning and detailed insights.

  • Odoo 19.0 (Community or Enterprise)
  • Python packages: anthropic, pandas, openpyxlodfpy
  • Anthropic Claude API key — available at console.anthropic.com
  • Odoo Documents app (optional, for folder integration)
